Quite honestly, I don’t. My number one priority is for my clients to feel safe and comfortable with me.
To ensure this right fit, I always recommend clients start off booking a complementary 15 minute consultation call.

Sessions are 60 minutes unless we have decided on a different length for an agreed upon reason.

Sessions can be online or in person. When booking your session, you can choose which option you would like. In person sessions are only available on Fridays. Online appointments are available any day.

My fee is $155.00 per hour.

Sessions can be paid via:
E-transfer to fernando@ascentcounselling.ca (direct deposit enabled) on the day of the session
Credit Card at the beginning of the session
Credit card on file processed automatically on the day of the session.

Sometimes the last thing we want to do at the end of a session is deal with the payment! I find it’s simplest, and easiest on the clients, to take care of payment ahead of time.

Many insurance companies cover counselling sessions. It’s important to check your health benefit coverage to see if it can be covered.

Virtual (online telehealth) counselling can be provided for clients located anywhere in Canada, except the Provinces of BC, Ontario, or Quebec, due to insurance limitations.

I most often work with teen boys ages 13 and up.

Yes! I typically start work with individuals, and this sometimes progresses to a family counselling session (with some size limitations of course).

I am an associate member of the Professional Association of Christian Counsellors and Psychotherapists. (PACCP).

Yes! I have done weddings for many of the my pre-marital couples. The fee is dependent upon the needs of your particular wedding and ranges from $300-$500 and is dependent upon if a wedding planner is involved & if travel is required.

Couples who receive premarital counselling reduce their chance of divorce by 31%. So I feel an obligation to to equip couples for marriage by requiring that they have premarital counselling.

We ask that you give 24 hours notice for cancellation or a full session fee may be charged.
Monday appointments must be cancelled by mid-day Friday to avoid cancellation fee. There is a high demand for services and certain times of day, your sessions are reserved exclusively for you and therefore is not available to others.

Yes, please feel free to share anything you feel would be helpful.
That being said, certain concerns are best dealt with in different ways. For example, if you are seeing me for pre-marriage counselling, but other challenges arise that may benefit from individual work, we will discuss a referral or work in tandem with other professionals to ensure you are receiving all the support you need.

What we discuss in session will not be released to anyone without your informed, voluntary, and written consent.
Exceptions are:
If you disclose you may be in imminent danger to yourself or others.
If there is suspicion or disclosure of abuse of vulnerable persons, such as a child or elderly person.
In the highly unlikely event that my records are subpoenaed by court order
Every effort will be made to discuss these circumstances with you prior to the involvement of others.

We will work together as long as it is beneficial to you.
6-12 sessions is what is most commonly needed but clients can require more or less than this.
Clients often have multiple sessions in a row and then occasional sessions down the road for accountability and ongoing support.
I trust my client’s judgment to collaborate with me and know what they need.
